We stayed for 2 nights in October and had a fantastic time. Blanket Bay was a beautiful lodge, set in an even more beautiful environment. We stayed in one of the private chateaus and couldn't be more comfortable if we tried. The property is set well off of the main road, through a gorgeously designed landscape and adjacent to an amazing part of the lake. The chateaus were stunning, with tall ceilings, a gorgeous fireplace, and beautiful wood throughout. Heated floors, towels, and a steam shower accompany this slice of paradise. The food and service were top notch. I'd recommend anyone take advantage of the included breakfasts, cocktails, and dinners. I seriously love food, and it has steered my travels more than anything. I can tell you the food here is not something to overlook. If the lodge itself weren't enough to persuade you, the setting in Glenorchy cannot be beat by anything in Queenstown. In fact, the drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, and it's all a glorious part of the experience. Take it all in, eat well, and rest easy knowing you're one of only a well informed few staying at Blanket Bay. Will definitely go back.
