It was the first time in Taiwan, but the hotel I stayed in was wonderful, so it was a good memory. The porters and concierges were also very helpful and recommended to check the shops and maps, as well as the train schedule to the airport for the return. It's conveniently found and near to a subway station. We had a nice room and it was exceptionally roomy and clean. What I enjoyed about most was that it had exceptionally great mattress, exceptionally comfortable. The Hotel is one of the most lovely in Taipei, dark rich wood insides and rich conventional Chinese decorations. The hotel has lovely flower arrangements all through the hotel that make it indeed more elegant. The Concierge lounge is exceptionally well set up and open 24 hours. The pool is perfect for swimming and just the perfect temperature.

The service is impeccable. The pool is very nice although I wish it could be heated a little more for evening swims. It is open year round which is a huge plus for me but as warm as Taipei is, the evening can be chilly. The breakfast buffet is vast with western, Japanese, and traditional Taiwanese staff. I was able to communicate to most staff in either English or Japanese as many of them were trilingual. The area is a personal favorite with off the beaten path cafes, bars, and eateries everywhere on the small side streets. The local subway station is very close but you can easily also walk through the underground shopping mall all the way to Taipei’s main station within 10-15 minutes. The property and facilites are excellent although slightly outdated.

This elegant hotel has a good location on a relatively busy commercial street in an area full of small restaurants and boutiques. We were told it is popular with Japanese tourists and several other Japanese hotels are also present nearby. Subway station is ten minutes away. Pleasant stay, comfort and a good mix between business and leisure. Taipei attractions are scattered in different parts of town so there is no single best hotel location. It is simply important to be near a subway station. Taxis are also inexpensive and easy to find. We were impressed with a quick personalized check-in that took place right in our club level room. A great hotel, which offers great service. The rooftop pool is great. It's definitely value for money. Overall the hotel deserves high recommendations for pure elegance, style and top notch staff.
